How can the current zoological model be enhanced with inclusive experience?

New Zoo is developing five specific projects at five different sites in four different parts of the UK and within four different socio-economic contexts, all moving well beyond traditional ideas and extending new benefits to society.

Each capital project will be unique in a world basis, distinctive to the strengths of its host organisation and reflecting the particular flavour, culture and needs of that part of the UK. At the same time each initiative will subscribe to the overall New Zoo philosophy and support its overarching themes ( economic development, university partnerships, etc). In due course New Zoo will cross evaluate the success of the four projects under identified areas, publish the results via our national representative body, BIAZA and other networks.

The five projects (north to south) are being developed under what are strictly working titles only:

Project Noah at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

BioInspire at Knowsley Safari Park.

Here Be Dragons! at the National Zoological Society of Wales.

Germinal: a new wildlife based science discovery centre at the Zoological Society of East Anglia’s’ HQ at Banham Zoo.
